Nautical Wedding Theme

For all you sea lovers out there, a nautical themed wedding would be perfect for you!  Whether you’re in Dana Point, Cape Cod, or anywhere in between you can make the nautical wedding theme your very own.

The seashore itself should be the inspiration for your wedding.  The many shades of blue from the sea, sand, sea shells, lighthouses, lanterns, sea-borne vessels, and last but certainly not least, the sea food.

Your venue can be the beach itself with or without a tent; a seaside hotel, B&B, or mansion; or a nearby golf course.  You could even be married on a yacht or ship.  The choice is yours.  However, you should be mindful of the season’s weather, possible alternatives should the weather turn bad suddenly.

For those of  you who prefer the more cautious route or are nowhere near a wedding-worthy beach, you can hold your nuptial celebration in any venue and simply focus on the décor being as nautical as possible.  With the right colours, decorations, as well as great attention to details, you can still have your nautical wedding theme.

It’s the little things that count: the lantern centerpieces, the sand dollar or sea shell place cards, invitations featuring crustaceans or boats, fish net and anchor design elements, and carefully selected and displayed food such as crab cakes, raw shrimp, seafood pasta, seafood gumbo, lobster salad, clam chowder, oysters and more.  I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!  However, with seafood allergies more common than you might think, be sure to have a suitable alternative for the allergic.

You could have so much fun with a nautical wedding theme.  With a bit of discretion and a lot of imagination you’ll have a wedding to remember!
