In keeping with Monday’s 1930s Wedding Theme, I’m sharing this FABULOUS Maggie Austin Cake creation: Vintage Lace (or so I’ve titled it). How divine is this?? I fell in love with it immediately and could see myself having something similar for my own nuptial shindig–one day.
What do you think of this Maggie Austin design??
Today we’re continuing to honour the birth of the littlest heir to the throne of England, newly named His Royal Highness, Prince George Alexander Louis, Duke of Cambridge!
We’re all in raptures over Kate’s simple, yet chic blue polka dotted dress and how sweet of a nod it was to her would-be mother-in-law, Princess Di who also donned polka dots when introducing Prince William to the world.
So in keeping with the blue polka dot spirit, here are some lovely numbers your bridesmaids and guests can wear for your wedding!
Pretty Pale Blue
The Dot & Bow
And we can’t forget about the shoe game. How cute are these Mary Jane pumps??

DA Weddings/Fantastical Wedding Stylings would like to congratulate NeNe Leakes, one of my favourite Real Housewives of Atalanta, and Gregg Leakes on their REmarriage!!
The bride wore Baracci in a stunning mermaid silhouette for the ceremony and Pnina Tornai for her reception number. (We’ll pretend Kim Zolciack’s Baracci choice had nothing to do with NeNe’s… *side eye*) Her platinum blonde pixie waves and over-the-top style were a perfect compliment to The Leakes’ Old Hollywood theme.
We think second time’s the charm for this lovely couple! Get it Gregg & NeNe, we’re happy for you!!

P.S. And on an entirely unrelated note (something my BFF and I say to each other at least 10 times per conversation), I’ve been doing a lot of research on angels for a non-related project. So when I stumbled across this fabulous angel wedding pic, I knew I had to share it with you guys!

If you are as captivated by the British Isles as me, have a hankering for the Scottish Highlands, or simply want and out-of-the way romantic local for your honeymoon, I’m thinkin’ you should go Scottish!
With it’s rich history, stunning landscapes, and welcoming people why not take the road less traveled and visit Scotland for your newlywed getaway??
Doesn’t this beautiful castle just make your fairytale-loving blood pulse?!
Happy Wildcard Wednesday! It won’t get all super deep on y’all like I did last week, but I wanted to share this stunning collage with you all (again). Originally crafted for Labour Day, I wanted to share it with you … Continue reading
I am about to do something extremely unpopular: define DA Weddings’ stance on marriage.
In light of all the fuss surrounding Prop 8, I thought it was important to let you my faithful readers know where I truly stand on the issue. And although I’m sure some of you may wish I’d stuck to posting pretty themes, gorgeous dresses, and delectable recipes, I refuse to hide “under a bushel.”
You may even wish to unsubscribe to my blog. That’s ok; it’s your right.
But here we go…
I do not in anyway, shape, or form support same-sex marriage. It goes against my biblically defined belief in God.
No matter what my brand goes on to achieve in the world of weddings and even events, no matter how large we become, we will always support marriage as it is biblically and traditionally defined.
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 2:24)
The Bible defines marriage as between one man and one woman. That’s it. God didn’t make any exceptions and He didn’t stutter. And although there were times in Scripture as many like to point out, that individuals in the Bible chose to do what they wanted regarding marriage, please understand that this was not the will or intention of God. And if you continue reading those Scriptures you’ll see the direct and indirect effects of those ungodly decisions on those individuals.
God and His Word specifically condemn the act of homosexuality and other sexually explicit/deviant acts. Please note that I said the act of homosexuality not the homosexuals themselves. And this is not merely an Old Testament phenomenon; it occurs in the New Testament as well.
The result of unrepentant homosexuality and, in fact, all unrepentant sin is death. This death comes in the form of an eternal separation from God in a very real place called Hell.
Just as a citizen of any nation condemns himself to suffer the weight of the law when they disobey it, so a human being condemns themselves to Hell when they refuse for whatever reason to disobey the righteous laws from a righteous God who dwells in Heaven and created us as well as the earth for His purposes. God does not send anyone to Hell.
Hell wasn’t even created for humanity! It was created for the fallen angels.
The human race has been blessed with a great gift: freedom of choice. This freedom of choice is a blessing or a curse depending on how we use it. We are blessed in that we can choose to love and choose to live a full life. God came so that we would have an abundant life, wilder than we could ever imagine.
I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live. (Deuteronomy 30:19)
Yet like the angels whom we were created a little lower than, we have the ability to choose to rebel against God, His Kingdom, and His laws. One-third of the angels did this and lost their right to heaven and eternal life. They are utterly, completely, and eternally, without redemption.
Yet when man fell in the Garden of Eden so long ago, God chose to preserve our race and one day offered us total redemption through His Son, Jesus, the Christ. The only way to the life we truly want and to leave a lasting, positive legacy for our children and our children’s children is to enter into that life through Christ.
He is the only way. There is no other. And the Word is Christ. It is synonymous with Who and what He is.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God….And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
(John 1:1, 4-5, 9-12, 14)
The problem is lies in the fact that too many of us are busy finding our own truth—what we think to be true, want to be true, or hope to be true—that we have ignored the only Truth that there ever was, is, and will be. Truth is a Person and His name is Jesus.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
And the truth of the matter at hand is the validity of same-sex marriage and the ability to participate in LGBQT activities.
The truth is that we can legalize gay marriage all we want to, but it will never be right.
We can choose to partake in all forms of sexual deviance, fornication, adultery, and any other sexual alternative, but it is still wrong.
A popular vote, societal opinion, or even the POTUS affirming homosexuality and same-sex marriage does not and will never make it okay.
And one day our POTUS, all those who passed this legislation, all those who practice alternative lifestyles, all those who support it, and yes, even those who sit by silently and say nothing will have to answer to God for their sin.
That is a position I would never ever want to be in and you wouldn’t either if you truly knew what it would be like.
But there is an answer! You can change! We can change! No matter how wrapped up in the LGBQT lifestyle you may be, no matter who intentionally or unintentionally deceived you into thinking you had to support the LGBQT lifestyle, you can change your heart, your mind, and your lifestyle today!
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)
God will draw near to those who draw near to Him! He loves you and no matter your situation, predisposition, or preference, He has something so much better for you than you could ever imagine!
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us… (Ephesians 3:20)
This isn’t about hatred, bigotry, ignorance, or bullying. It’s about right and wrong. And despite the common acceptance of relativity in our society, there is still such a thing as right and wrong.
I was feeling “Pinteresty” so I decided to search “gold wedding dress” on Pinterest and these were my favourite Gold Goddess picks!
