Faerie Wedding Theme

A Faerie wedding theme would be absolutely divine!  Think Edmund Spenser’s The Faerie Queene, Marion Zimmer Bradley’s The Mists of Avalon, or any other tale the features this unearthly realm.  This theme is definitely one to consider for all the fantasy-crazed couples out there.

The wedding dress and décor are probably the two single most important elements to set the tone for this particular type of wedding.  You can choose a blatantly “faerie” gown, wings and all, or you can choose a more subtle version that transforms you into a modern Faerie Queene.

The décor is also extremely important.  If you decide to not choose an outdoor ceremony and or reception, be sure to choose a venue that you can play with.  Consider making tall tree-like centerpieces or even bringing in actual trees to provide more of a woodland feel.  Also, do not forget the flowers.  Wild bouquets, dainty circlets, floral print invitations, and the list goes on.  You can name the tables after your favourite fairy tales or “fays” instead of numbering them.

Whether you choose to create the realm of Faerie or merely an echo, a faerie themed wedding is a lovely choice and your guest will never forget it!
